Youth involved in the juvenile justice system often experience other challenges that complicate their ability to complete probation successfully. They are more likely to experience poverty, low school attendance, and lack of mental health treatment or healthcare coverage. This is where Independent Case Management Services steps in.
ICMS case managers work with these teens and their families to better prepare them to complete their probation requirements by connecting them with the services, treatment, interventions, and opportunities they need. The case managers are a direct link to emergency assistance, basic needs assistance, employment and legal assistance, school and community resources, and any other support necessary for success.
Since our creation in 1996, over 1,800 families have been served by ICMS home-based and community-based assistance.
Teens age 13-17 who are currently involved in the Travis County Juvenile Probation process are eligible for four months of ICMS case management services. Visit the Referrals page for information on how to recommend someone for this program.
